Program Overview

 

The JB Andrews Relocation Assistance Program is designed to make your inbound or outbound PCS as smooth as possible. Due to current COVID-19 precautions, all relocation services are being provided virtually; via phone, email, video, and Zoom. The information below will be updated as we resume normal operations.

NEWCOMER'S ORIENTATION:

The workshops are held on scheduled Mondays, 8:00am-3:00pm. The workshops are held at the Community Commons (1442 Concord Ave).

PLAN MY MOVE BRIEFING:

We offer this briefing monthly. Family members are encouraged to attend. Briefings include TMO, Finance, MPS, Tricare, MFLC, EFMP, School Liaison, Military OneSource, and the Military & Family Readiness Center (financial readiness for PCS). To register, please contact the Military & Family Readiness Center at (301) 981-7087 or email us at 316.fss.mfsc@us.af.mil.

The workshops are held one Tuesday per month, from 9:00am-12:00pm. The workshop location or Zoom link will be sent to you as part of the automated reminder system.

YOUTH SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM:

Available to youth family members of active duty, retired, and reserve military, as well as youth dependents of DOD civilians. Volunteers will help welcome incoming youth. BECOMING A SPONSOR:

Congratulations on your role as a sponsor! The Military OneSource eSponsorship program provides sponsors with comprehensive training and resources to welcome the incoming member to their new duty station. To begin the process, you must complete the new eSponsorship application and training. Please follow the steps below to start the process, then visit the eSat website to find sample emails or welcome letters, checklists, and newcomer's assessments to help you be a great sponsor.

Follow these steps to complete your yearly Sponsorship training:

​

  1. Go to https://millifelearning.militaryonesource.mil/ and login (if you are not already registered for the site, then you will need to register first).​

  2. Go to https://millifelearning.militaryonesource.mil/MOS/F?p=SIS:9:209048228065163::::P9_ID:13 to complete the eSat sponsorship training.​

  3. Email the training certificate to your unit sponsor monitor.

​

*If your unit or squadron is interested in an in-unit sponsorship training, please call us at (301) 981-7087 or email us at 316.FSS.MFSC@us.af.mil. Please note that sponsors will still be required to take the online Sponsorship training; the in-unit training is supplemental.

  • Childcare for PCS:  The Air Force Aid Society provides vouchers for up to 20 hours of free child care per child for Air Force families with PCS orders, at both their losing and gaining bases. Contact our office at (301) 981-7087 or the Airman & Family Readiness Center at your losing base for more information.

​

  • EFMP:  If you have a family member who is already enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program, contact our EFMP Family Support team to sign up for a short one-on-one needs assessment appointment. Call (301) 981-7087 or email 316FSS.MFSC.EFMP@us.af.mil.

​

  • Financial Success:  If you'd like to get your finances in shape for your move, contact our Personal Financial Counselor Chip Basel by phone at (240) 222-2604 or by email at pfc.andrews.usaf@zeiders.com.

​

  • Military & Family Life Counselors (MFLC):  Stressed out by the move? Get free, short-term problem-solving and non-medical counseling services. Available to active duty military members (in all branches), as well as the National Guard and Reserves, and their family members. To reach an MFLC, call (301) 232-8481 or (301) 232-8465.

  • School Liaison:  If you are moving with school-aged children, please feel free to reach out to our School Liaison Office (SLO). *NOTE: As of May 2021, this position is vacant. For assistance, contact the Chief of Child and Youth Services at (301) 981-9212.
